Summer Camp

Come discover the wonders of the ocean and our Central Coast at the Avila Beach Marine Institute — now offering summer camp for kids, with field trips, date nights, daily adventures and more.

Ages 5 -7
Kids will have a blast with this two day program learning all about the wonderful critters that live in the ocean, with fun projects like fish-printing, and lots of hands on experiences. They’ll also discover our local history and enjoy a hike. Each session is slightly different than the previous, so kids can sign up for more than one week.

Monday — Friday 8:30 Am to 12 noon — 3.5 hours — $70.00

Ages 8 — 12
Are your kids ready for five full days of adventure, activities and fun? They’ll experience hiking, research, sample gathering and ocean oriented exploration and much more. Each week is slightly different so feel free to sign them up for more than one week.

Monday — Friday 8:30 — 3:00 pm 6.5 hours per day — $220.00

All Ages
Will enjoy one and two hours classes designed to intrigue, educate and enthrall. Times and availability will vary so call 805 595 7280 for specifics. Activities will include nautical knot tying and bracelet making, invertebrates of our ocean, marine mammals, T-shirt fish printing, making a shark’s tooth necklace, hikes, fishing, algae pressing and much more.
